Le Palais du Ministère des Travaux publics, commencé en 1906, est l’œuvre de l’architecte Petre Antonescu dont le nom est associé à de nombreux monuments de Bucarest : Arc de triomphe, Banque Marmorosch, Palais des Arts, etc. Construit entre 1906 et 1910, le Palais est en style néo-roumain, inspiré du style Brâncovenesc (Renaissance roumaine). Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, le Palais devient le siège du commandement de l’armée. Depuis la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, c’est le siège de la Mairie de Bucarest. Lors de son inauguration en 1910, une médaille fut frappée par la Monnaie de Bucarest pour commémorer l’événement, connue en Or (notre exemplaire), en argent et en bronze

1906 年に始まった公共事業省庁舎である宮殿は、建築家ぺトレ・アントネスクによる設計です。ブカレストのあらゆる記念碑 ( 凱旋門、マーモロッシュ銀行、美術館等 ) に、この建築家の名が記されています。 1906 〜 1910 年にブルンコヴェネスク様式 ( ルーマニアルネッサンス ) で建設された宮殿は、第一次世界大戦中は陸軍司令部に、第二次世界大戦以降はブカレスト市庁舎となりました。 1910 年の落成記念として、ブカレスト造幣局が金・銀・銅のメダルを製造しました。そのうちの金が当該メダルです。

The Palace of the Ministry of Public works, begun in 1906, is the work of the architect Petre Antonescu, whose name is associated with many monuments in Bucharest: the Triumphal Arch, the Marmorosch Bank, the Palace of Arts, etc. Built between 1906 and 1910, the Palace is in neo-romanian style, inspired by the Brâncovenesc (romanian Renaissance) style. During the First World War, the Palace became the headquarters of the army command. Since the Second World War, it has been the seat of the Bucharest City Hall. On the occasion of it’s inauguration in 1910, a medal was struck by the Bucharest Mint to commemorate the event, known in gold (our example), silver and bronze.
