C’est le second plus haut grade ! Provient de la collection du Roi Farouk, Sotheby’s, février 1954, n° 2207.
NGC PF 60 (5788893-002). Flan bruni (PROOF). Tranche lisse et différent faisceau de Jean Lagrange, ainsi qu’un C (pour Centenaire ?). Rarissime avec 20 exemplaires frappés (selon Dewamin), c’est le type le plus rare de la série de 1889 ! Superbe à Fleur de coin.
Pour les frappes de 1889, les archives sont manquantes et les seules informations disponibles sont données par E. Dewamin (vol. 2, p.327 et note 4). Dewamin est le seul à donner un chiffre de 20 exemplaires pour la pièce de 5 francs. La participation de la Monnaie de Paris à l’exposition de 1889 permettait de frapper sous les yeux du public, grâce à un balancier à vapeur, des jetons monétiformes par A. Borrel. Une autre presse monétaire était présentée mais les monnaies de 1889 ont, quant à elles, certainement été frappées à la Monnaie de Paris et non pas lors de l’Exposition

1889 年製造コインについては資料が不足しており、 E. Dewamin 氏の著作 ( 第 2 巻 p.327, 注 4) が唯一の情報源です。 Dewamin 氏だけが、 5 フラン貨製造数 20 枚と示しています。 1889 年の万博に参加したパリ造幣局は蒸気機関駆動の振り子式プレス機を披露しました。 A ・ボレル氏がこれを使い、観衆の目の前で代用貨幣を製造しました。この時、別のプレス機も披露されましたが、年号が 1889 年のものは、万博ではなくパリ造幣局で製造されたと考えられます。

This is the second highest grade ! From the collection of King Farouk, Sotheby’s, february 1954, number 2207
NGC PF 60. PROOF. Smooth edge and different beam of Jean Lagrange, as well as a C (for Century ?). Extremely rare with 20 coins struck (according to Dewamin), it’s the rarest type of the 1889 series ! Mint State.

For the 1889 strikes, the archives are missing, and the only available information is given by E. Dewamin (vol. 2, p.327 and note 4). Dewamin is the only one to give a figure of 20 examples for the 5 francs coin. The participation of the Monnaie de Paris in the 1889 exhibition allowed the minting of monetised tokens by A. Borrel before the eyes of the public, using a steam balance. Another monetary press was presented but the 1889 coins were certainly struck at the Monnaie de Paris and not at the Exhibition.
